Kuroaya is a glazed porcelain mosaic finished in yohen glaze, a traditional Japanese ceramic glaze known for its deep, lustrous color. Its slim, linear tiles sit on a black base, and as the light moves across them they reveal undertones of either deep blue or red.

The name combines "kuro," meaning black, and "aya," meaning coloring. The blue version recalls the indigo tones long used in Japanese textiles, while the red brings warmth and intensity. It comes in two colorways: Blue and Red.

As a glazed porcelain, Kuroaya is durable, water- and stain-resistant, and easy to wipe clean, which makes it well suited to feature walls, backsplashes, and bathroom or kitchen walls. Natural variation in glaze and tone across the tiles is part of its character.
