Hosowari is an unglazed porcelain mosaic with a rough-hewn face and smooth, angled edges. The contrast between the rugged surface and the clean edges catches light and casts soft shadows across the wall.
Its design draws on traditional Japanese architecture, specifically the ancient tile walls built from reused or broken roof tiles layered with clay, giving it an authentic, textural character. Hosowari comes in four colors: White, Light Beige, Dark Brown, and Black.
As a durable, stain-resistant porcelain, it's rated for both interior and exterior use, including feature walls, fireplace surrounds, backsplashes, and outdoor facades and cladding. Natural variation in color and texture from tile to tile, and even within the same batch, is part of its character.
