Sentousai is a porcelain mosaic inspired by kawarabei, a traditional Japanese building practice where fragments of old roof tiles were reused and set into plaster walls. It recreates that look with three different tile thicknesses, which layer up to create shifting light and shadow across the surface.
It comes in four colors, Brown, Black, Grey, and White, each with the rugged, layered texture of the original walls. The recycled tradition behind it makes Sentousai an eco-conscious choice, and its glazed porcelain body is durable, low-maintenance, and stain-resistant.
Sentousai is rated for both interior and exterior walls, which makes it well suited to interior feature walls as well as outdoor facades and cladding. Natural variation in color and texture from tile to tile, and even within the same batch, is part of its character.
